Now autumn is upon us, and – unfortunately – the food banks are still with us. So we’re advertising the new season of concerts to raise funds for the Otley Food Bank. We wish we didn’t have to do it!

But the plus side is that Phil Snell and local musicians have organised a full winter season of great Sunday evening fundraising concerts.

Musicians donate their time and talent, the Labour Party donates the venue.

All gigs are at Otley Labour Rooms. There’s a licensed bar with real bottled ales, lager and wine.

For every event, doors open 7.30-10 pm, entry is £3, and extra donations are welcome.

The first gig is the extraordinary Chris Martin, described as a ‘blues shouter and teller of tales’, and player of 16 or more instruments, on Sunday 19 October.

Here’s the full programme:

Chris Martin                                   19 October 2014

Becky Mills                                    09 November 2014

Ben Waters with support
from Jake Sleepy Segrave            23 November 2014

Kath Reade + Simon Alexander    07 December 2014

Gerry and Phil                               14 December 2014

Gerry McNiece                               11 January 2015

Nick PH                                       25 January 2015

Joe Solo                                      08 February 2015

Andy Aitchison                               22 February 2015

Diamond Dac                                 08 March 2015

Jon Palmer                                    22 March 2015

Pete Krengel                                  05 April 2015

Tim Moon                                      19 April 2015

So make a regular date in your diaries, and keep Sunday evenings free – and pass the word on.
It’s all for a very good cause. We just hope we won’t be advertising them again next year.
