This Saturday, 13 September, Alex Sobel and Leeds North West Labour Party are organising a community clean up in Cookridge – behind the shops on Iveson Approach – at 10.30 a.m.

We’re responding to issues raised during our campaigning in the area.
Litter is something which crops up regularly when we’re discussing with people on the doorstep.
We’re doing something about it.

This time we’ve timed our litter pick to be part of the Let’s Do It UK – Let’s Clean Up the UK series of events. https://www.facebook.com/letsdoituk
Let’s do it! is ‘a global network of clean up campaigns that have taken place in over 100 countries, empowering 9 million people to take action and work toward a cleaner world – together.’
We’re proud to be part of it.

But this is our third Community Clean up this year.
In April we removed rubbish from an area of Spring Wood on Silk Mill Approach – also in Weetwood ward.
In June, Alex, Labour’s candidate in Leeds NW, was out with the cubs in Yeadon, cleaning up the steps near the Rivoli Pizzeria behind Ivegate.

Julie Heselwood was a leader along with Alex in the Silk Mills clean up. She’ll be there again on Saturday – giving a helping hand in Weetwood, even though she was not elected last May.
We’re committed to working in the Constituency – all year round, and not just at election time.

If you want to see a cleaner Cookridge – and Leeds North West – why not join us on Saturday.
