As local residents will be aware, ambitious plans have been put forward by the Council to create a high quality play area and recreational facilities at the junction of Royal Park Road and Queens Road.
Now Neil Walshaw would like to invite local residents to help decide the future of this Royal Park Site.
A consultation event will be held tomorrow – 12th August.
Councillor Walshaw, along with fellow Labour councillors in Headingley and Hyde Park, has been working hard to guarantee that the proposed permanent facilities will be of a very high quality and meet local needs. He’s very keen to ensure that as many local people as possible have the opportunity to consider the various options.
Residents will be able to drop in between 5 and 8pm at the Better Leeds Communities Centre on Burley Lodge Road. They will have the chance to view the plans for themselves and speak to officers and Councillors to have their say on the future of the site.
The Labour Councillors for Headingley and Hyde Park have made sure that the site would be retained as a community asset for current and future generations. They look forward to discussing the proposals with residents and are excited to see work begin in the very near future.
As Neil (Labour Councillor for Headingley) put it:
“Plans are moving quickly to turn the Royal Park site into a top-notch community space which will benefit the whole neighbourhood, including residents in Headingley Ward. I am sure many people will be keen to discuss the various plans submitted to ensure that the agreed work will meet the needs of local people.”
So if you live in the Headingley/Hyde Park area, make sure you have your say.
There’s no need to stay for the full three hours – just drop in to find out what’s happening, and talk to your local Councillors.
